Autumn rainbows.

Yesterday was the autumnal equinox.  It turned out to be a lovely evening for a beer can regatta on the lake.   I took Nirvana out with Lori and Kurt as crew.  Marty took Stand by Me out with Monte and Kevin as crew.  There were four other boats as well.  We were treated to a pretty double rainbow as a rainstorm skirted us to the southeast.   When we crossed the finish line in fourth place, it was against the backdrop of a beautiful sunset.  A fun sail!

A moment from a lovely walk.

Rain is in the forecast for the entire week here.  I timed my walk today for what I hoped to be a break in showers.  As it turned out, l made it back home after an hour or so with barely a drop on me.

I was listening to Pandora, and as I crested a hill on my way home I turned up the volume when I heard one of my faves through my earbuds – Israel Kamakawiwo’Ole’s cover of Somewhere over the Rainbow.  As I was listening, I turned my head and coincidentally saw a faint rainbow lit up during a brief sunbreak – making the song even a little more enjoyable than usual.   Nice.

Pot o’sunshine.

Our nephew Jake is visiting for a week or so. We had pizza night last night and today we headed to the lake. Of course.
Jane and Jeff joined us on Destiny. It was a beautiful day. After last week’s rain a straggler shower or two dodged around on the horizon.
We didn’t get rain but were treated to this rainbow from arky south.
