Working on my wannado list.

I don’t have an actual bucket list. I do have a long-memorized list of things that I’ve always wanted to try once. One of those is scuba diving. But, my aversion to larger-than-me fishes with sharp teeth has kept me from that one. Snorkeling will happily suffice for me.

Another one from my wannado list is skydiving. Well, this year I watched the construction and grand opening of an indoor skydiving funhouse in Austin called iFly. It’s basically a vertical wind tunnel in which you can experience free fall without the hassle of planes and parachutes. Works for me. And boy is it FUN!

Colleen and I each went 3 times. I will definitely go back again.

Moon & troposphere viewed from seat 20A.

I’m on my way back home.  Typical commute.  Flight delays, short connection, scrambling for carry-on baggage space, hoping for an upgrade to that last seat in 1st class.  Bleh.   Thank goodness for the Admiral’s club.  🙂

I’ve been using the in-flight wireless on most of my business travel legs.  It helps me keep from getting behind on email and todos.

On this flight, I decided to knock off early.  Well, i *is* 6PM on a friday night!

I was taking photos out the window after we had leveled off at 35 thousand feet.  I had a nice view of the moon above the clouds, and some pretty blue sky, and then I had the brainchild … hey, i should just post it now while I’m online.  🙂

So here goes.

Have a great weekend!

We had a great day.  Got up early to watch the sun rise over the Ohio River.  Coffee on the riverwalk.  A stroll through town.  Finding a barbershop on a side street.  Lunch for 20 or so at Jack’s.

After lunch we all went our own ways… and Monte, Susanne and I took a drive through southeastern Indiana for a couple hours to drive by things not seen for many years:  old towns, homes grown up in, schools attended many years ago, neighbors’ homes, store fronts, side roads, covered bridges, state parks.  Old stories retold.

Then we met at the community pool for dinner.  40 or so people sharing a family connection.   Gary & Judy and Josh & Mary were fabulous hosts.   Josh makes the best pulled pork.  All the kids, big and small ended up in the pool for the better part of the evening.

We were treated to an awesome aerial diving exhibition (..competition?…) by Monte and Dan.   This is one shot of many.   Gotta love the height, form, synchronization and all out gusto of this one.

Afterwards we all crammed into Suite #2 for margaritas, and more fun into the wee hours.

Happy birthday Egan!
