I ventured down south this week to check out The Austin Winery’s tasting room. It is on St. Elmo off South Congress. It’s surrounded by lots of other spots to visit, a food truck, outdoor patio, and a big, open warehouse space inside. Pick a tasting trio of wines, a glass, or a bottle, and nice nibblies.
It’s a nice spot to enjoy happy hour. Check ‘em out!
The Texas state history museum offers free admission to all exhibits the first Sunday of every month. Today we headed downtown and met Laura to see 2 new exhibits: Fly Girls of WWII, and the 300+ year old shipwreck of La Belle. Both worth the trip.
Afterwards, we hit happy hour at Clark’s. Half-price off all bottles of wine! Oh and the food is good, too. 🙂

One doctor always stopped at a local bar after work for a hazelnut daiquiri – a special drink the bartender created just for him. One day, the bartender ran out of hazelnut flavor so he substituted hickory nuts instead.
The doctor took one sip of the drink and exclaimed, ‘This isn’t a hazelnut daiquiri!’
‘No, I’m sorry’, replied the bartender, ‘it’s a hickory daiquiri, doc.’
The rain put the kaibash on our grilling plans. So we hit happy hour tonight at our local sushi place, instead. Nom nom!!
