Another shot from yesterday’s walk through the woods. I found myself literally surrounded by trees as far as my eye could see — much like I feel with my todo lists from work and home. It was a reminder to try to keep the big picture in perspective, and not get hung up on the little things.

I’m very thrilled to see the weather forecast for the next few days. FINALLY some not-rainy days!
I’m looking forward to spending some time outside! This morning I got an early start… went for a long hike in the woods. This shot shows the just risen sun peeking through the tree trunks at the horizon.
And in the middle of my hike I came upon this tranquil view. Very pretty.
On a walk through the woods I saw this new tree growing from the stump remains of a long ago fallen tall tree.
I took a stroll through the woods on my first day back up here in the Pacific Northwest.

I finally got a chance to go outside today! I went for a walk this afternoon after my last meeting. There is a new park with a huge network of trails through towering trees about a mile walk from my mom’s house. It was gorgeous. This cut log was laying next to the trail. I stopped counting at 60 rings. Thank you log, I now have Elton John’s 60 Years On ringing in my head. Now you do too.

I drove jake here tonight and we cooked dinner and ate with mom. Then he played guitar for us for a while. He’s very good. He reminded me that I had taught him the basics many years ago. Very sweet.
