This evening was a clear, crisp one, after a brief downpour this afternoon. I took a walk out back looking for any signs of flowers. A couple of bright yellow dandelions were the only blooms to be seen. Usually I kick the tops off of these when I walk by, until I can spend an entire Saturday morning digging each one up by the roots.
This time I stopped a moment to see one. I guess I’ve never really looked at a dandelion before. The little curly stamens in the middle were a surprise.
Beautiful capture! I’ve always loved dandelions! So cheerful and under appreciated!
Hi susan, thanks! If i had a better camera, i would try to get a REAL macro shot of those curly stamens. 🙂
Gorgeous! Glad to see you joined the macro party today. Hope you have a great weekend.
Lisa
Hi there! thanks. I do enjoy the macro friday challenge, there are so many great shots every week.
This reminds me of my dandelion shot a while back- they really can be pretty when one takes the time to admire 🙂
I know! i was really surprised after I had gotten a good look up close. thanks for stopping by.
How beautiful! I love the details of the shot and that vibrant yellow is so gorgeous!
Hi Rosie, thanks!
This is much prettier than the dandelions we have in spring and summer! And in close-up, it looks like a wonderful mum!
i also like the little frilled edges of each petal. I hope spring come for you soon!
I love the bright, bright yellow, which has a fresh greenish tint to it. It makes me think that maybe spring will indeed come again!
Hi jenna. Spring is definitely on the way. I can’t wait to watch everything pop over the next 2 months or so.
Such beautiful detail in this shot. Glad you stopped to take a photo!
Love the colour of the dandelion. V
BEAUTIFUL shot. I love it!
Too pretty–how can that be called a weed!!!! Mickie
Hi Mickie. I know! I’ll never look at them as just a weed anymore… at least until the white fluffy seed pod gets ready to open 🙂
