Hold still.

I’m surprised this guy held still long enough for me to take the shot.

Today was a bit longer day than usual of endless conference calls.   I just recalled how one summer between college semesters I was looking for any kind of job I could get.  I ended up following up on an ad in the paper for telemarketer openings.   I showed up.   Sat down with a phone and some papers and started dialing.   After a few hours I was out of there – swearing I would never do that again.  You know.  I could never spend all day on the phone.  Talking to people.

So after finishing many more years of college and 20 years working, what am I doing?  Spending all day on the phone.  Talking to people.   Ironic, eh?    🙂

  1. Good Morning Sheila! Beautiful Butterfly capture. I had to laugh about your lament over many years in college and finding your ear stuck to a phone. I spent just the four years in college and then spent the next 20 years behind the cash register in quite a few small gift shops. Not even close to using my degree. But I was happy and that is a very good thing. The husband was a military officer and we were lucky to spend 18 months in any one place so retail sort of worked out. I keep coming back here reading and we have quite a bit in common. We sailed a Hobie when we were young and nothing scared us and then we moved on to a day cruiser and tested the waters of the Patomac. Scared ourselves a few times there too but it was beautiful. I love all your sailing pictures and the Cupholder, ooooeeeee! It’s taking me a bit but I am reading 🙂 We lived on The Lake of the Ozarks before we moved here to the quiet of the country. We miss the lake life but we were needing some peace and quiet and the Lake was a rowdy weekend and summer thing when the vacation crowd came.

Hope you don’t mind me bouncing over here and checking out avatars and gravatars and pictures and seeing if my stuff is working and trying to learn a thing or two from you. Sorry this got so long, I will get going. Oh, I am a tomboy too, an old one now but still. And I will take the outside over the inside any old day!

    1. Hi, I’ve been checking out your blog as well. Looks nice.
It’s funny how blogging has allowed me to cross paths with people I never would have met, but with whom I have a lot in common 😉
I look forward to following you via your blog!
